THAT DESERT "JAISALMER" RAJASTHAN INDIA

"JAISALMER"  THAR DESERT

Animals, culture and environment in jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is a city in the Rajasthan state of India. Jaisalmer was founded in the early middle of Indian history in 1178 AD in the Thar desert located in the far west of India. It was founded by Rawal-l-Jaisal, a descendant of the Yaduvanshi Bhati, around AD. The descendants of Rawal Jaisal ruled here for 770 years without breaking the lineage till the change in the republic of India, which is an important event in itself.

The state of Jaisalmer has seen and endured many periods in the history of India. Passing in the history of about 300 years of the Sultanate period, this state was able to maintain its existence for about 300 years even in the Mughal Empire. From the establishment of the British state in India till the end, this state kept its lineage pride and importance unchanged. After the independence of India, it merged with the Republic of India. At the time of the merger of the Indian republic, its geographical area was spread over a wide area of 16,062 square miles. Due to the extreme conditions of the desert, the population here was only 76,255 at the beginning of the twentieth century.

The land area of Jaisalmer district was famous as 'Madhara' or 'Vallabhmandal' in ancient times. After the war of Mahabharata, a large number of Yadavs moved towards this and settled here. There are many beautiful havelis and a group of Jain temples which were built between 12th and 15th century.

Jaisalmer's high-rise buildings and havelis with narrow streets remind tourists of the medieval monarchy. The city is spread over such a small area that tourists can walk here and admire this golden crown of the desert. Jaisalmer is believed to have been founded by the Bhati Rajput, Rao Jaisal in the 12th century. From the point of view of history, the city of Jaisalmer was attacked many times by Khilji, Rathor, Mughal, Tughlaq etc. Despite this, the royal buildings of Jaisalmer are true symbols of Rajput style.

Jaisalmer state is located on the map of India at a place where it has a special significance in history. Due to the vast area of this state on the north-western border of India, the rulers of this state not only tolerated the initial attacks of Arabs and Turkey, but strongly pushed them back, keeping the rest of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Central India from these external invasions for centuries. kept safe. The two Rajput states of Rajasthan, Mewai and Jaisalmer are considered to be older than other states, where the same dynasty has ruled for a long time.

For centuries, in the absence of easy means of transport, this state remained almost cut off from other provinces of the country. Due to this very little is known about Jaisalmer from outside. Generally in the imagination of the people, this place is just a desert surrounded by dust and storms. But the situation is not like this, despite the pressure of history and time, ancient culture, art, tradition and history have been present here in their original form and the tales of the past eight hundred years are filled in every particle of sand. . The state of Jaisalmer retained the original forms of Indian culture, folk style, social beliefs, construction, music, literature, architecture etc.
